The BA and BF Falcon introduced a completely new V8 power plant, displacing 5.4L, and based on the US modular V8 engine series. The BOSS version of this motor, found in the XR8 and FPV models produced 260kw, the highest output for a Ford vehicle up to that time, however this is a figure that can be improved by fitting a Manta Performance exhaust system, as the stock exhaust system is largely quite restrictive.
